I don’t know about you, but Wednesday felt like an average day. Middle of the week. World news making it seems as though we’re all about to be incinerated. People behaving badly. You know. Normal.
But it’s not every day that you see a final table of a $10K event online. Today, we had just that as the biggest-buy-in event of High Roller week came to its conclusion.
The start of Day 2 saw Team PokerStars Pro in contention for the $258,000 first prize. She ultimately finished in 12th place for more than $26,000 in prize money.
That left American expat and current Costa Rica resident PlayaPlz to take the title.
PlayaPlz led for most of the final table but ended up in an epic heads-up match the notorious Black88. The difference between first and second was more than $58,000. PlayaPlz didn’t want to leave anything on the table. In the end, he took the lion’s share: $258,639.
High Roller week continues for the rest of the week. There is a $10,3000 progressive KO event on Thursday. Then on Sunday, the $2,100 buy-in Main Event is guaranteeing $2 million in prize money. Satellites to that event are running now.
Congrats to PlayaPlz for this week’s biggest win so far.
