Bill Chen just doubled up to about 55,000 with queens all in pre-flop against jacks. Meanwhile the unstoppable engine that is Dragan Galic continues to accumulate chips at a phenomenal rate and is up close to 300,000. Most recently Galic making a flush with K♣Q♣ on a board of 7♣10♣5♣Q♠J♠. His opponent’s pocket jacks were coolered out of here and Gallic continues to run very good indeed.
And — hold on — more breaking Galic news. The Croatian has just had kings and got another opponent to put all their chips in the middle with A-Q. Galic now has more than 400,000, which is at least 200,000 more than his closest rival. Extraordinary.
The tournament director Thomas Kremser has recently announced that we will be playing only seven levels today, one fewer than yesterday. Although we started with such a monstrous field, the rate of eliminations is such that we are still well ahead of schedule. There are 224 players remaining at the mid-point of level 12. We would probably be at a similar point in any EPT event, even one without this staggering turnout.
